Wine Tour Brunello

Full day Brunello wine tastings and visit wineries & cellars. IS NOT A BIKE TOUR The cellar, very important to produce and to age wine, is a magical place, full of life and ancient secrets where wine matures day after day evolving their unique blend of colour, flavour and bouquet. At the same time you are tasting wine you have the chance to visit some beautiful and historical places of the area such as castles, abbeys, medieval villages, fortresses, hamlets and relax in front of genuine Italian food.

Itinerary:

A beautiful excursion driving through the sweet rolling hills of Val d’Orcia arriving in Montalcino where the most famous Italian wine, Brunello, is produced.
Your guide is Alessandro, a native of Montalcino, which family is involved in wine business: they have enoteca “ italian name for a wine shop” in center of town, ENOTECA Pierangioli.
He will pick you up at 10.00 at your accommodation and transfer to the first winery.
During the day you will visit at least three wineries, taste red wines and Brunello di Montalcino of various vintages, taste dessert wine and have a  light lunch in a cellar. 
Our favourite wineries we propose are: Mastroianni, Caparzo, Fuligni, Poggio di sotto, Loacher; Altesino, Argiano, Ciacci Piccolomini, Fattoria dei Barbi, Poggio Antico, Castello Banfi, Biondi Santi some of them they produce top quality brunello and rosso in organic way and also biodynamic wine. Lunch is usually arranged at Caparzo winery.
You will have time for sightsee: historical centre is dominated by a medieval fortress “la Rocca”, from its walls you can admire the nature and landscape of the Val d’Orcia area, the Crete Senesi and the hills of Maremma, and not-to-be-missed Sant’ Antimo abbey outside the town. 
You finish the day at enoteca in town with 400 different labels, mostly Tuscan wines. Learn about the most famous Supertuscan wines! and Alessandro will offrer you a tasting of more 4 Brunello di Montalcino 2004 and 2005

Notes: We are flexible and if you want to ask for different winery we can offer a custom wine tour. For more than 7 people we can arrange also wine tour, will be custom price. Also please let us know your accommodation town in Tuscany so we can confirm if transfer is included, it depends on distance from Montalcino.
