Discover island with most spectacular coastline.
An ancient land with an ancient language, Sardinia is a uniquely fascinating place. Its coastline is probably Europe’s most spectacular, its waters teem with fish and shellfish. People here are very friendly and with them you will taste the typical Mediterranean Dolcevita.
Those rugged mountains, pocked with caves, are home to large flocks of sheep that feed on pungent wild herbs and produce a cheese your palate will never forget. While a winding coastal drive—perfect for a roadster —offers dramatic Mediterranean views and a powerful adrenaline rush, the real highlights are the actual rocks. More precisely, the prehistoric stone dwellings found in the mountainous interior, the island is home to more than 7,000 stone Nuraghi towers, Bronze Age castles built between 1600 and 1100 B.C.
Starting from Oristano, heart of the Campidano plane you will ride in the terrific and suggestive south-west coast of Sardinia Island, where Pink flamingos will wait you for pleasant meetings.
Then, you will go up and down on the mountains of Costa Verde, full of old and suggestive mines. Cycling southwards, on the islands of Sant’Antioco and San Pietro and on the coast of Teulada, an unforgettable scenery will stay in your mind forever, the scent of the Mediterranean Sea. Sardinian countryside will frame your memories and your pictures.
Finally you will arrive to Pula near the roman ruins of Nora, a “must” don’t be missed.
You are in the middle of Campidano Area, the village with four thousand inhabitants, has always been a strategic junction and was once the border between the Giudicati of Arborea and of Calari. Sardara’s history is linked, today as in Antiquity, to the thermal springs: the Aquae Neapolitanae led to the establishment of a densely populated Roman residential area (2nd-1st century BC). At the end of the 19th century, they were incorporated into the modern Sardara thermal baths. 2 kilometres from the village, your stay is an experience of well-being in an establishment surrounded by greenery. The waters gush out at a temperature of between 50 and 68 degrees C and are beneficial and therapeutic.

Tour Reviews
I recently completed a self-guided bike tour on the west coast of Sardinia. This was my third bike tour with Cicloposse. As usual Giuliana did a great job with setting up the tour and answering all my questions through e-mail. Mauro also did a thorough job with the bike fitting and route suggestions. He also showed his enthusiasm for the Sardinia island and culture. The bike routes on these tours take place along secondary roads with great scenery and low traffic. Most of all is the high quality, lightweight bike that they provide which helps this 60 year old travel more easily up those challenging hills in the Tuscan and Sardinian country sides.
Hi Guiliana, We wanted to say what a wonderful time we had on our bike trip. All the route details were mapped out well and so easy to follow. The tips about where to stop were wonderful. The bikes were also high quality and made those hills a bit easier to climb. We saw so many amazing views of the countryside while riding. The towns we stopped in were also all so wonderful. Thanks.
