We did a bike tour in Umbria with Cicloposse and everything was top-notch. This was our second self-guided tour (Umbria) with Cicloposse and we were (once again) impressed with how well the tour was organized, including the choice of hotels and the cycling itinerary. We were well taken care of and appreciated the excellent recommendations for restaurants.
My daughter and I had a wonderful time in early May on a self-guided cycle holiday for six days around Pienza and nine days exploring in Umbria. Giuliana and Marco of Cicloposse organized our bikes, overnight stays in lovely places, a lift to the Umbria start point, and all baggage transfers. We've ridden touring bikes for years, including two weeks self-guided with Cicloposse in 2018, but at my age the e-bikes offer a fresh way to explore. On e-bikes we were happy to explore Strada Bianchi, "white roads", unpaved roads around the Val d'Orcia and northwards. We keep thinking back to this lovely experience in such a special part of Tuscany and Umbria. Giuliana and Marco know cycle touring as part of their lives, and they love beautiful experiences, and it shows.
This was our third bike tour with Cicloposse. There is a reason we are return clients: It is the best bike touring company among several we have used in Europe. We prefer self-guided tours, and Cicloposse offers several self-guided tours that are very well organized. Their hybrid bikes are exceptional. Their tours are graded easy, moderate and challenging, so you can choose your level. The routes are beautiful. Some of the routes in Italy can be challenging (there's a reason they call them "hill towns" -- they are on top of large hills!), but they now offer an e-bike option if the routes appear too daunting. My wife and I opt for hybrid bikes and, while we are tired at the end of some days, we are also exhilarated and ready for a great meal at one of the restaurants Cicloposse recommends. The hotels are very well chosen. And the company's adoption of Ride GPS navigation (with offline functionality and turn-by-turn voice) makes it very easy to follow the routes. Very highly recommended!
If you have ever dreamed about cycling through Tuscany, this is a must do! Not only do you cycle to the most beautiful places, you stay in an incredible hotel and learn to cook local meals with one of the best chefs ever! I highly recommend this experience.
This tour was a wonderful experience . The communication was great before, during and after the trip. Our tour guides Panos & Vito were fun and very caring about our comfort and safety . The bikes were new. Both hotels lovely . I liked the GPS apps , the routes, the lunch stops and the chosen restaurants. The wine tasting & olive oil tasting lunches were superb.
We had a fabulous trip and met some of the nicest people who all meshed together well. Panos and Vito were so much fun and very accommodating to our needs and requests. Excellent!!
Wow - what an amazing experience!! We just completed the 4-day short escape with Cicloposse tours. It was incredible! We were blown away with how well it was organized, how kind the staff was and how fanatic the new e-gravel bikes were. A trip of a lifetime!!
I can’t say enough good things about Cicloposse. Our food and wine tour of Tuscany was outstanding. Our guide Panos went above and beyond, was friendly and knowledgeable. The cooking classes with Paolo were fun and well organized. The bikes were great and the rides were stunning. The special outings to the thermal baths and a tenuta were first class. We will definitely do another trip with them!
The Biking and Food Tour in Tuscany with Cicloposse Bike Tours was a premium experience from start to finish. The daily routes, cooking and tasting experiences, and accommodations were thoughtfully planned and perfectly executed. The bikes were great - we haven't used ebikes so took advantage of this opportunity and are so happy that we did. They were high quality and helped us enjoy the rides while still getting plenty of exercise. But, the real standout of this tour were the people at Cicloposse. From the first communications with the office staff to our daily rides with the guides who were caring and kind, respectful and generous with their information and tips, this is a small family business focused on excellent customer service. We are already looking at options for our next trip with Cicloposse!
We've cycled extensively in Europe and appreciate what a good tour looks like. The Cicloposse team were superb. We we were self guided on a luxury break and it was everything we hoped for and more. The space and freedom to explore on your own but you also knew you were on tried and tested routes and hotels (and backup if you needed). 5* is absolutely what they deserve. We will definitely return.
Had such a great time on my e-bike tour through Tuscany with Cicloposse!! The guides were wonderful- really fun and personable, the chef was amazing and Tuscany is just gorgeous. What a great way to see some of it. Giuliana and her crew do a great job. I always felt safe and taken care of. The villa we stayed in was really comfy and beautiful and the staff there was really nice and accommodating. I would recommend this tour to anyone! Make sure you are in shape though, even on an e-bike it’s not easy!
Cycling & Cooking in Tuscany Guided Tour--my wife and I had a great experience with Cicloposse on this tour. Cicloposse is a LOCAL, FAMILY-OWNED business based in Pienza. They are avid cyclists, know all the routes, and they hand select the other people involved in the tour experience--Sabrina, our gracious host at the villa, the farmers, wineries, chefs, etc to ensure the highest levels of hospitality. Each day we rode to a different destination (25-35 mi) and then returned home to our lovely villa in time to clean up for dinner. We had a diverse set of cycling skills within our group, but our guides, Thomasso and Panos, kept us all organized. All of our needs were met and not a single thing was left to chance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all included every day, so no need to find them on our own. One or more of the family members joined us at every meal, making us feel like part of their family. They made sure that my wife's dietary and food allergy needs were met at each meal. The cooking classes were fun, informative and, above all, the food we made was great! And of course, there was beautiful Tuscan scenery, luscious olive oil and delicious wine! It was very emotional for us to say goodbye to all of our new friends when the tour ended. My husband and I just returned from the self-guided Luxury Wine and Spa tour of Tuscany and Umbria. What a wonderful experience! The bikes were of excellent quality, the GPS routes were fantastic, and the hotels were incredible. Giuliana is great at customer service and communication. When my husband forgot his passport at one of the hotels, she arranged to get it back to us without a hassle or a hitch. Restaurant recommendations were fantastic too! Cicloposse deserves an A+!
Southern Self Guided
We chose CicloPosse’s Southern Tuscany tour for our first e-bike trip and we loved it! This trip featured 2 or 3 nights in each town. We loved the hotels and the routes were beautiful. There were many cyclists and walkers on the routes and at the hotels . We were two couples in our 60’s and we felt so young with our extra power up the hills. We did the trip in early June, a gorgeous time of year. Everyone at CicloPosse was friendly and accommodating. We asked for old school turn by turn directions and found them flawless. We give this company and area 5 stars!!

This was a fabulous experience in every sense - majestic 13th century towns, incredible vistas, wonderful caring guides, amazing farmhouse accomodation, a world class chef, a genuine family with local knowledge and a generous spirit wanting you to feel and live the Tuscan way.
We felt like we had the privilege to be brought into their world and didn’t want to leave. The cycling was outstanding and cooking lessons encouraging and informative - I highly recommend you do this!

Custom Culinary bike trip
The kind folks at Cicloposse put together an absolutely amazing itinerary of cycling, agriturismo, unique hotel, cooking classes, epic rides, unforgettable dinners and much more family as we rode through the beautiful Tuscany countryside. Even during the unguided portions where we went along on our own they were very helpful to make sure we were taking very good care of. Tuscany bespoke self guided
We just completed our wonderful weeklong tour in Tuscany with Cicloposse. Giuliana created a bespoke tour for us based on our input and requests. Everything from start to finish was excellent. The lodging, routes, restaurant recommendations, luggage transfers, and support were all that we could ask for. Tommaso, our guide, made our trip even more enjoyable. Our group has ridden across the US, France, Spain, and Italy. Cicloposse has our highest endorsement.
Umbria self guided
Our group of 6o year olds spent 6 exquisite days touring quiet routes between lovely hilltop villages in Umbria - Tuscany’s more sedate but no less charming cousin. Cicloposse provide an extremely high level of service in trip planning at an affordable rate and then really lifted their game when it came to delivering the ultimate bike tour even by picky North American standards. Every aspect of the journey felt personally curated for the keen cyclist and offered up treat after treat along the road in the form of wineries, local culinary experiences and of course endless gelato! Hotels were well chosen and easily merited their 4 star ratings.
Would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this company and we’ve already started talking about a return trip next year!
Gravel Tuscany self guided
My wife and I just returned from a fantastic gravel bike trip from Pienza to Gaiole, via Montalcino and Siena. They chose gorgeous routes including long stretches of the classic Strade Bianche used by the pros and in the Eroica granfondo. Our hotels couldn’t have been more charming, and some were quite luxurious. Giuliana and Marco were very flexible and helped us with a lot of little things. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cicloposse to anyone looking for a great Italian cycling adventure!
