The Sardinian town of Alghero is a lively and pretty city and a flourishing tourist attraction not only for the summer masses and elite tourism, but also for a new cosmopolitanism. It is famous because it has been dominated by Catalans and just here, some people speak Catalan language. The Mura Catalane (Catalan walls) still surround the old town centre on the seaward side, the wall have towers and it will be pleasant for you to walk along and have a drink at sunset before a seafood dinner!
Loop bike ride from Alghero to Capo Caccia. Distance 54 km / 33 mi
Leaving the pretty city of Alghero to north direction, you’ll ride in the terrific area of the Vermentino wine. In this region called Nurra, the wind blow directly from the North west and the plant can’t grow up over a few meter. Today if you have time you can be able to visit Capo Caccia: Calcareous rocks spattered with caves and ravines that hide a mysterious world atop the turquoise sea.

Bike ride from Alghero to Bosa and Santu Lussurgiu. Distance 96 km / 60 mi hilly.
Leaving Alghero and arrive to Bosa skirting the coast; here you can admire the massive complex of the Castello dei Malaspina or walk on the medieval roads of the old village. Due to a series of quite unique events, Bosa has managed to keep its territory unchanged. You’ll continue and bike along country roads passing through small villages and climb on the Montiferru Massive, where you’ll see the famous Siete Fuentes water sources in San Leonardo. Soon you will arrive in Santu
Lussurgiu, admiring, while descending, the great plateau of Ghilarza. Gourmet dinner at slow food presidia Antica dimora Gruccione
Bike ride from Santu Lussurgiu to Tharros via Cuglieri. Transfer to Oristano
Distance: 67 km / 41 mi, first 9 km uphill, then downhill and flat terrain.
After breakfast you’ll have time to visit the village: in the morning it is filled with scents of homemade sweets; later on we’ll leave. First we’ll pedal climbing in the region of Montiferru, passing through small towns admiring the Campidano plain from the top. Finally we will arrive in Tharros were we can visit the old roman-punic harbor of Tharros, the open air museum most visited in Sardinia.after a light lunch front of the sea, a short transfer (or 15 km riding) will take us to Cabras village, famous for the production of bottarga -Sardinian caviar- where we’ll have wine tasting at Cantine Contini.
Bike ride from Oristano to Barumini and transfer to Pula.
Distance 58 km / 36 mi, rolling hills.
We’ll bike through secondary roads up and down the hill through little villages, the highlight today is Barumini, a small village placed in the heart of Sardinia which has become famous thanks to the most important archeological area of the island: the Su Nuraxi complex, a visit not to be missed. Sardinia is quite well known not only for its natural beauties, but also for its typical and peculiar buildings named Nuraghe, which have appeared during the Bronze Age and which represent the symbol of the island.
Distance: 66 km / 41 miles rolling hills to hilly
We will ride inland towards Domus de Maria and face the only big climb just before Teulada. Then we can enjoy the rolling hills while skirting the fantastic seaside of Baia Chia with its long sandy beaches, high sand dunes and the crystalline waters, giving it a Caribean feel. It is only the Mediterranean vegetation, in particular the juniper trees Ginepro typical of this region, that remind you that this fantastic island is in the Mediterranean. Continue along the Coast all the way back to Pula where a warm shower and a farewell dinner will await us for our hard work.
