Piedmont has been part of our cycling story for many years, and we are excited to finally offer a self-guided bike tour that brings together the areas we love most: the Langhe, Barolo, Barbaresco, Alta Langa, Canelli, and Monferrato.
This 7-day journey begins in La Morra, one of the most elegant and scenic villages in the Barolo wine region. From here, you ride quiet vineyard roads through some of Piedmont’s most celebrated wine landscapes, with time to explore hilltop villages, choose your own restaurants, visit local wine cellars, and enjoy the relaxed rhythm of a self-guided cycling vacation.
The route then moves east, passing through Alba — the capital of the Langhe, famous for white truffles, hazelnuts, and exceptional cuisine — before reaching the quieter hills of Alta Langa and Benevello. From this peaceful countryside base, you explore the Barbaresco wine region, where narrow ridges, vineyard-covered slopes, and panoramic bricchi create some of the most beautiful cycling scenery in Piedmont.
The final part of the tour continues toward Canelli and Monferrato, a less-traveled but deeply rewarding wine region known for historic cellars, Barbera vineyards, thermal towns, authentic villages, and outstanding local food. It is the perfect ending to a Piedmont bike tour designed for riders who want freedom, beauty, wine country, and expert local planning behind the scenes
Begin in La Morra, one of the most scenic and elegant villages in the Barolo wine region.
Ride the legendary wine hills of Barolo and Barbaresco, between vineyard ridges, castles, and medieval villages.
Explore Alba and the quieter landscapes of Alta Langa, where vineyards meet hazelnut groves and woodland.
Visit Canelli, known for its historic Underground Cathedrals and sparkling wine traditions.
Discover Monferrato, a less-traveled wine region of Barbera vineyards, thermal towns, authentic villages, and outstanding local cuisine.
Welcome to La Morra, one of the most important wine villages in the Langhe and a wonderful base from which to explore the Barolo region.
Perched high above a landscape of vineyards, La Morra offers sweeping views across the Langhe hills and, on clear days, as far as the Alps. Its historic center is filled with wine shops, cafés, and restaurants, making it easy to explore on foot after your arrival.
Meet our local representative for your tour orientation and bike fitting. We will introduce you to the bicycles, explain the navigation system, and review the practical details of your self-guided journey.
When arrival time permits, take a short test ride through the surrounding vineyards and become familiar with your bike before the tour begins.
Overnight in La Morra at Corte Gondina.
Dinner is on your own, with a wide choice of restaurants within walking distance.
Today’s loop ride introduces you to the heart of the Barolo wine region, where quiet roads wind through a remarkable landscape of vineyards, castles, stone farmhouses, and medieval villages.
Ride through some of the area’s best-known wine villages, including Verduno, Serralunga d’Alba, Monforte d’Alba, Barolo. Along the way, the views constantly change as the road climbs gently onto vineyard-covered ridges and descends into small valleys.
Barolo is a natural place to pause. Wine lovers may visit the historic Falletti Castle, now home to the WiMu Wine Museum and the Regional Barolo Wine Shop. Monforte d’Alba is another highlight, with narrow lanes climbing toward its panoramic old town. The ride returns to La Morra, where you can relax and enjoy another evening in the village.

Leave La Morra and ride east through the rolling landscapes of the Langhe toward Benevello and the hills of Alta Langa.
The route passes through vineyard country and small villages Sinio and Montepupo Albese, before reaching Alba, known as the capital of the Langhe. Its compact historic center is an excellent place to stop for lunch and explore on foot. Highlights include the Cathedral of San Lorenzo, the medieval towers, Piazza Risorgimento, and Via Vittorio Emanuele II, traditionally known as the Via Maestra.
Beyond Alba, the route begins to climb gradually toward Benevello. Vineyards slowly give way to hazelnut groves, woodland, and the quieter landscapes of Alta Langa.
Your accommodation is set in the countryside, surrounded by gardens and gently rolling hills.
The Alta Langa is not just a geographical area but also the name of a refined sparkling wine — an expression of the region’s cool climate and elevation. It’s a place of quiet beauty and slower rhythms, perfect for savoring the ride and the scenery.
Tonight, we suggest dining at the excellent in-house restaurant DaMa — a refined culinary experience that celebrates the best of local flavors in an elegant setting.

Today’s loop ride explores the home of Barbaresco, another of Piedmont’s celebrated Nebbiolo-based wines. The route leads through Treiso, Barbaresco, Neive, and the surrounding vineyard hills. The landscape is more intimate than the Barolo area, with narrow ridges, steep-sided valleys, small farms, and wide views across the Tanaro River.
The village of Barbaresco occupies a commanding position above the river. Its medieval tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the region and offers a spectacular view over the surrounding vineyards.
Continue to Neive, officially recognized as one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. Its historic center rises in concentric lanes around the old fortified settlement and is an inviting place to stop for lunch or a coffee.
The route then continues through the quieter hills around Mango, Neviglie, and Trezzo Tinella before returning to your hotel.

Leaving your accommodation, a gentle 2 km climb sets the pace before a flowing descent brings you to Treiso, home to some of the area’s highest vineyards and prized truffle forests. Continue downhill to the enchanting village of Barbaresco, with its medieval layout and iconic tower watching over the surrounding hills.
Pedal on through Neive and Mango, two beautifully preserved villages that feel suspended in time, before reaching Canelli, the birthplace of Italian sparkling wine. Here, you can visit the spectacular “underground cathedrals” — historic wine cellars carved into the rock, where bottles quietly rest and mature in perfect conditions. We will send suggestion to book in advance the visit.

The route then reaches Acqui Terme, an elegant spa town whose thermal waters have been appreciated since Roman times. In the historic center, the fountain known as La Bollente releases naturally hot thermal water at approximately 75°C, or 167°F.
