Welcome in Trani

Arrive in the charming town of Trani, nestled along the Adriatic Sea.
Settle into your hotel within the enchanting historical center.
Marvel at the Romanesque Cathedral, explore the castle, stroll through the picturesque gardens, and savor a delightful lunch at a cozy eatery by the old port, indulging in the delectable seafood menu.
Enjoy a relaxed evening with dinner at your leisure, immersing yourself in the local atmosphere.

DAY 2

CASTEL DEL MONTE

Embark on a scenic ride through olive fields towards the UNESCO-listed marvel, Castel del Monte.

This medieval architectural gem, crafted by Emperor Frederick II, offers panoramic views of the stunning “Alta Murgia.” After touring the castle, settle into a charming countryside hotel. Your evening is free to explore or relax as you please.

Venosa: Aglianico del Vulture

Cycle from Puglia into Basilicata, arriving in Venosa.

Known as the town of Horatio, the Latin poet who embraced the ethos of Carpe Diem.

Discover the Trinity church’s treasures, housing tombs of Norman kings and precious frescoes. Enjoy the evening at a holiday farm or historic home, savoring the local ambiance and cuisine.

DAY 4

Melfi Norman castle

Today, journey into the Vulture wine area, exploring the castles of Frederick II.
Delight in the renowned Aglianico wine, an ancient Roman favorite, and sample exquisite olive oil.

Explore Melfi’s grand Norman Castle and museum, indulging in a chestnut wood ride and a wine tasting at a local store. Return to Venosa, traversing hills and visiting wine cellars en route in Barile and Ginestra.

DAY 5

Bradano Valley

A gentle ride through the Bradano river valley, surrounded by vineyards and small villages with a typical southern atmosphere: Palazzo S. Gervasio, Banzi, Genzano di Lucania.

At times it will feel like you are back in the last century.

The colours of the landscape, its silence and the warm welcome from the local people are still able to enchant any visitor. Your destination is Gravina di Puglia – stay  at  authentic holiday farm, dinner on your own and overnight stay.

DAY 6

Altamura & Matera

Cycle to Altamura, famous for its medieval cathedral and  bread pane

Discover the streets in the historical Centre, beneath the cathedral bell-tower and taste some fresh focaccia baked in an old wood-burning oven.
Set off again for the countryside towards the built-up town of Matera, which is just a few kilometers away.
Arrival in the old part of the town called the Sassi and accommodation in a hotel in the historical Centre. Don’t miss a visit to the rock churches and city’s museums – strongly suggested a guided walking  tour.
