Yes. We offer scheduled group bike tours, which you can find in our Tour Calendar
Self-guided tours, private tours, and custom trips are available on request, with flexible dates.
We recommend booking at least 3–6 months in advance, especially for peak season (May–September), to ensure the best availability of bikes and accommodations.
It depends on the type of tour and the time of year.
In general, the more advance notice we have, the easier it is to confirm the trip and secure the best choice of hotels and bikes.
That said, last-minute requests can sometimes work well too — for example, when joining a scheduled guided tour with recent availability, or in some cases for a self-guided trip.
For private guided tours and custom group trips, we strongly recommend planning well in advance, as these require more coordination and availability across several services.
We always do our best to confirm each trip as quickly as possible.
A deposit is required to confirm your booking.
The remaining balance is usually due 6–8 weeks before departure.
Cancellation terms vary depending on the tour type and departure date.
You can read the full policy here: Cancellation Policy
Yes — every tour page includes a “Book Now” button, and most tours also feature a “Check Availability” button at the top of each tour page!
After you submit your request, we usually reply within 24 hours to confirm availability.
For scheduled group tours, confirmation is usually immediate
For private, custom, and self-guided tours, we first verify hotels, bikes, and logistics before confirming

Payment can be made by bank transfer or credit card (Visa and Mastercard).
Credit card is the most commonly used option, as it’s fast and secure.
As a licensed tour operator, we can process card payments remotely in a safe and compliant way.
We provide premium road, gravel, e-gravel, hybrid, and e-bikes.
All bikes are regularly serviced and professionally fitted to your size and riding style.
Our main bike fleet is available for all our guided tours and for self-guided tours in Tuscany, Umbria, and Sardinia.
For self-guided tours in other destinations (such as Puglia, Sicily, and Romagna), we work with trusted local partners and provide high-quality bikes, with full specifications shared before confirmation.
Yes — you’re welcome to bring your preferred pedals or saddle. We’ll install them for you.
Yes. Helmets are provided — and helmet use is mandatory on all Cicloposse tours. You’re also welcome to bring your own.
In general, no — our bikes are reserved for guests traveling with Cicloposse.
This ensures availability and reduces the risk of theft, since we manage accommodations and secure storage.
In special cases (for example, private groups staying in a villa with secure storage), exceptions may be possible on request.
Yes, absolutely. Many guests travel with their own bike.
We recommend considering transport logistics, packing, airline handling, and local support — and we’re happy to advise.
If you’re reserving a bike for the tour, we use your height to reserve the correct frame size.
Riding a properly fitted bike is essential for comfort, performance, and enjoyment — whether it’s a road bike, gravel bike, or e-bike.
You can enter your height in meters or feet — whichever you prefer.
Our tours range from moderate to challenging — we do not offer true “easy” rides.
A minimum level of training is strongly recommended, especially to feel comfortable spending several hours in the saddle. We’re happy to help you choose the right tour.
In many cases, it’s possible to add extra mileage or extend rides.
Reducing difficulty is sometimes possible by shortening distances, but the terrain remains the same — Italy’s hills are part of the experience.
Yes — e-bikes are available on all Cicloposse tours, making climbs and longer distances more accessible.
Yes — luggage transfer between hotels is included on all Cicloposse tours, so you can ride light and focus on the experience.
We carefully select boutique hotels, agriturismi, and small luxury properties, chosen for their comfort, character, location, and warm hospitality.
Transfers are not always included, but we provide clear instructions to reach the tour starting point using public transportation.
If preferred, we can connect you with trusted professional drivers for airport or train station transfers.
Tour inclusions typically cover accommodation, breakfasts, selected meals, bike rental, route planning, luggage transfer, on-tour support, and selected activities.
Exact inclusions are clearly listed on each individual tour page.
In general, no — we prefer to manage the accommodations included in the tour.
This allows us to create a smooth and well-coordinated travel experience, and to work with cyclist-friendly properties we know and trust, with the right level of comfort, location, and safe bike storage.
If there is a special hotel you would like to include, feel free to ask — we’ll be happy to check whether it can fit the itinerary.
Yes — but Cicloposse specializes in designing and operating complete cycling tours.
Our strength is the bike travel experience itself: local routes, trusted accommodations, bike rental, luggage transfers, and on-tour support. For this reason, we do not usually provide single services such as bike rental or luggage transfer for travelers organizing the trip independently.
We don’t arrange flights, but we’re happy to suggest options for arrival logistics and travel within Italy.
You ride independently using GPX tracks on RideWithGPS, with luggage transfer, detailed route notes, and on-call local support.
Yes — routes are carefully curated, tested, and intuitive.
With our RideWithGPS Tour Operator account, maps are available offline, making navigation reliable even in remote areas.
You’ll have clear emergency contacts, assistance instructions, and local support whenever needed.
At Cicloposse we offer both guided and self-guided bike tours.
The difference is not only the presence of a guide, but mainly the travel style, daily rhythm, and level of freedom.
Self-guided tours are designed for travelers who value independence and flexibility, while still benefiting from a well-organized trip.
In some cases, we also offer a “supported self-guided” option:
👉 Self-guided tours offer maximum freedom, especially in the evenings, allowing guests to decide spontaneously whether to enjoy a casual meal, a gourmet dinner, or simply explore on their own.
Guided tours are a more structured and fully supported group experience.
For guided tours, we often choose:
👉 Guided tours are ideal for travelers who enjoy sharing the journey, relying on the guide, and experiencing the destination as a group.
The real difference is:
freedom and independence versus structure and shared experience
Spring (April–June) and fall (September–October) are ideal, with mild temperatures and beautiful scenery.
Summer is also possible with early starts, adjusted distances, and smart pacing.
We adapt plans to keep the experience enjoyable and safe.
Depending on conditions, we may offer alternative routes, flexible schedules, rest days, or — in case of heavy rain — a hotel-to-hotel transfer on self-guided tours.
Yes — we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance, including medical coverage and trip cancellation protection.
We cannot provide insurance directly — coverage must be purchased in the traveler’s country of residence.
Yes — our routes prioritize quiet roads, scenic backroads, and safety-focused planning.
You’ll receive clear emergency contacts, assistance instructions, and local support whenever needed.
In general, our tours are not suitable for families with young children.
Our destinations often involve hilly terrain, longer distances, and several hours in the saddle, which can be demanding for small kids.
For families with younger children, we’re happy to suggest alternative destinations better suited to flat cycling paths.
Our tours are generally best suited for teenagers aged 13 and older, depending on fitness, confidence, and itinerary.
We evaluate each request individually.
In Italy, e-bikes are not legally allowed on public roads for riders under 14 years old.
They may only be used in private areas such as courtyards or parks.
We help families plan legal and appropriate bike options.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality. We recommend checking official government sources.
Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
We’re happy to assist with arrival logistics and extra nights before or after your tour.
We don’t book flights, but we can suggest airlines and routes for internal travel within Italy.
We are a Travelife Partner, following internationally recognized sustainability standards.

Yes — we prioritize local guides, boutique hotels and rural country houses, wineries, restaurants, and chefs, supporting regional economies and authentic experiences.
We do not print brochures — we have always preferred to share our tours digitally.
Since 1994, we have used our website to present our trips and keep information as accurate and up to date as possible. Today, this approach is part of our sustainability actions, commitment to digitalization and sustainability: from digital invoices to route navigation on app, we aim to reduce paper use while making travel planning easier and more efficient.
We believe this helps us focus our time and resources on what matters most: great bikes, carefully designed itineraries, and high-quality accommodations and services.
What truly makes us different is that we design and operate our own tours, based on first-hand experience and deep local knowledge.
Cicloposse is a family-run business, and today a new generation is also part of the journey, bringing fresh energy while keeping the same care, values, and personal approach that have shaped our tours from the beginning.
We don’t simply resell pre-packaged trips. Our itineraries are carefully built using routes, hotels, and local partners we know personally — from boutique accommodations and country houses to guides, wineries, and chefs.
This allows us to create cycling experiences that feel authentic, well-paced, and genuinely connected to the places we ride.
Experience — and passion.
For over 30 years, we’ve worked in cycling and active travel as cyclists, guides, planners, researchers, and tour operators. We’ve personally explored the roads and regions where we send our guests, and we continue to ride and refine our tours every season.
We also live in Tuscany, our main destination, which means our knowledge is not only professional — it is also personal and local.
Our guides are experienced cyclists and capable mechanics, able to handle bike fitting, quick adjustments, and small mechanical issues along the way.
With Cicloposse, you’re not just booking a bike trip — you’re traveling with people who truly know the road.
