When we started Cicloposse Bike Tour in 1994, we heard about REI in Seattle: that’s why during our first trip in Us in 1998 we decided to go and visit their headquarter. It was so impressive for me and my husband. We were at the very beginning of our business and we tried to arrange working with them – but unfortunately we were nobody at the time!
In 2009 we happened to be contacted by REI itself, as we were introduced to them as recommended by another company, that’s when we started to make deal with them. We have been their provider of the cycling bike tour in Tuscany since 2010 and it has been a great adventure since then, with 6 departures per year.
We are so sad that REI will no longer run tours all over the world – but we can surely say that we have learnt a lot from this collaboration which has lasted more than 10 years.
Customers from REI were often passionate cyclists and they always appreciated the road bikes and itineraries as well as the combination of charming hotels with authentic food our company offered and put together with REI trip experts.
We can say that REI Adventure has been taking thousands of travelers all around the world for more than 30 years, be they outdoor lovers, hikers, cyclists, paddlers, canoers.
Unfortunately on 24th March 2021 they announced that the co-op will close its international branches of the Adventure programs after a final trip abroad in May 2021, as they have decided to offer exclusively domestic trips.
