Unveiling Autumn’s Gravel Cycling Events
in the Splendid Landscapes in Tuscany:
Terre di Siena
As the seasons shift, Tuscany’s enchanting landscapes continue to beckon cyclists from around the world to embark on thrilling adventures.
This fall, the region becomes the stage for three remarkable gravel cycling events that promise to take participants on unforgettable journeys through the heart of Siena.
These events, set against the backdrop of Buonconvento, Montalcino, Val d’Orcia, and Monteriggioni, offer cyclists the opportunity to explore diverse corners of this magnificent Tuscan area.
SaGravel Francigena
Exploring the Historic Paths Scheduled for September 16th and 17th, the SaGravel Francigena event promises an exhilarating experience for gravel enthusiasts.
Starting from Buonconvento, cyclists will traverse the Francigena trail, venturing through the rustic charm of Montalcino and Val d’Orcia.
With a variety of route lengths tailored to different preferences, this event caters to both seasoned cyclists and beginners alike.
Participating with an e-bike opens the doors for less experienced riders to join the excitement, offering the perfect chance to relish rest stops and immerse in the uniqueness of picturesque towns such as Torrenieri, Bibbiano, Castelnuovo Tancredi, Murlo, Lucignano d’Asso, San Quirico d’Orcia, and Pienza.
Gravel Castello di Monteriggioni
A Weekend of Cycling Bliss From October 13th to 15th, Gravel Castello di Monteriggioni takes center stage, inviting cyclists to indulge in a weekend of cycling delight.
With four open-to-all routes spanning from 43 to 155 km, this cycling tour promises unforgettable journeys through the charming Chianti and Val d’Elsa regions.
Rooted in the philosophy of gravel cycling, the event encapsulates its essence through three compelling mottos:
- Sweat, Dust, Beer;
- Save the Planet Ride Gravel;
- It’s not about how many kilometers you ride, but who you ride them with.
Val d’Orcia Gravel
Where Gastronomy Meets Adventure Concluding the trilogy of events is Val d’Orcia Gravel, taking place on October 22nd and 23rd. This non-competitive gathering transcends traditional cycling routes and instead focuses on an exquisite culinary journey.
Set against the backdrop of Val d’Orcia, departure from rocca a Tentennano, the event offers routes intertwined with gastronomic experiences, allowing participants to savor local delicacies while cycling through the mesmerizing landscapes.
The route options include the GOLOSO Gourmet Trail of 117 km, the SAPORITO Savory Trail of 73 km, the FRUGALE Light Trail of 34 km suitable for all levels, an e-bike-friendly trail of 36 km, and the LUCULLIANO Epicurean Trail of 145 km.
