Welcome to Oristano & the Sinis Peninsula

Arrive and check-in at the charming hotel Aquae Sinis in Cabras for a meet-and-greet, bike fitting, and orientation briefing. Test your bike in the village, facing the sea, and consider a ride towards the inland villages of Milis or Bonarcado. Cabras boasts the legendary Contini winery, renowned for producing one of the best Vernaccia di Oristano wines.

Loop to Tharros

Your gravel bike journey begins from beachfront, passing through Cabras’ paddy fields, offering captivating views of the Lagoon, a Spanish tower, and a Roman bridge. Today’s ride navigates mixed paved, salty, dusty, and sandy flat fields with slight elevation, perfect for off-roading. En route, admire Sardinia’s prominent beaches like Is Arutas and Maimone, as well as the archaeological site of Tharros. Overnight in cabras

DAY 4

Loop to Piscinas

Embark on a warm-up around a basalt volcanic cone, followed by a climb overlooking Guspini and the Campidano plains. The route leads to Montevecchio via an old trail used by the mines. Overnight in Guspini.

DAY 5

Gesturi

Cycle away from the coast through Campidano flats towards central Sardinia. Traverse olive orchards, agricultural fields, and the old railway connecting Montevecchio to Guspini, passing by the former steelworks.
A stop should not to be missed: Barumini, a small village built in the heart of Sardinia which has become famous thanks to the most important archaeological site of the island UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE: the Su Nuraxi complex.
